Masonry Greenwood’s “talent” has been recognized by a coach, and he may return to the national team, but not with England.
The former Manchester United striker, who netted his first goal for Getafe on Sunday, is still eligible to switch teams because he only received one cap for the Three Lions in 2020.

Additionally, Greenwood is currently being encouraged by Jamaica’s manager Heimir Hallgrimsson to play for the island nation, following in the footsteps of Premier League players Ethan Pinnock, Demarai Gray, and Michail Antonio.
“We would like to have the best talent on our team,” stated the Reggae Boyz coach.
“If he gets his former fitness and former levels, then for sure he would have that level to help Jamaica.”
His support follows Greenwood’s January 2022 Man United suspension. Greenwood is of Jamaican heritage.
In October of last year, the father of one was accused of attempted rape and violence; however, the accusations were eventually withdrawn in February.
The Crown Prosecution Service in England stated that there was no longer a “realistic prospect of conviction” because important witnesses had withdrawn and fresh evidence had surfaced.
The 22-year-old signed a contract with Getafe on deadline day this summer, and on September 17 he made his debut. Jose Bordalas, his coach, promised to assist the player “recover his best level.”
Since the Red Devils’ match against West Ham on January 22, 2022, he had not kicked a ball.

Three days prior, he scored his last goal as United defeated Brentford 3-1.
After joining Getafe on loan from United, he scored his first goal on Sunday—his first goal in almost two years.
In his fifth game for the team, Greenwood scored to give Getafe a 2-1 lead over Celta Vigo in La Liga. He did this by hammering home a shot off of Borja Mayoral’s cut-back.
With a 2-2 result, Getafe is now ranked 11th in La Liga.
Greenwood, who joined United at the age of 17, has 129 games under his belt and is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025.
