Sad news: In order to have wrist sᴜrgery, Nicolas Jackson has withdrawn from international duty with Senegal

Nicolas Jackson, a striker for Chelsea, has been sidelined by a wrist ιnjury and has withdrawn from international action with Senegal.

Jackson’s right arm had been splinted for his previous two games for precautionary reasons.

The Daily Mirror stated that the Senegalese striker was ill before Chelsea’s 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Brighton.

A small procedure was apparently performed on Jackson to fix the problem.

The 22-year-old has withdrawn from Senegal’s game against Cameroon due to the upcoming surgery.

Jackson will not be participating in Senegal’s October 16 friendly against France, the team confirmed.

Abdallah Sima, a striker with the Rangers, has been called up to replace Jackson.

Jackson is on track to play in Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League encounter against Arsenal on October 21. The Blues will host the London derby.

Since joining Chelsea in the summer for £30 million from Villarreal, the forward has scored three times in nine games.

Jackson has now scored in each of his first two starts for the Blues, including the game-winner in the Carabao Cup.

On Saturday, he scored again in Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Burnley, tying him with Raheem Sterling for the league lead in goals.

Between their victories over Brighton and Burnley, Jackson was suspended, meaning he missed Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Fulham.

Chelsea will be looking to win their fourth straight game in all competitions when they take on Arsenal in the London derby.
