When asked if he would act as an ambassador for Manchester United in a potential sale to Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, Beckham also denied the rumors. In a partnership with Qatar from the previous year, Beckham acted as an ambassador for the World Cup.

There has been no dialogue at this time. Beckham said, “I’ve had a long-standing relationship with Qatar because of my involvement with PSG… but there’s been no discussion at the moment.” PSG is the French club Paris Saint-Germain, for whom Beckham played toward the end of his career, around the time the Qatar Sports Investments group purchased the team.

The American Glazer family, who purchased the Premier League team in 2005, have presided over a difficult few years for the club. This year’s English League Cup victory ended a drought of six years for the team.

Manchester United confirmed in November of last year that star player Cristiano Ronaldo would be leaving the organization after he insulted manager Erik ten Hag and the Glazer family in an interview. During his second spell with the club, Ronaldo was only there for a year.

Manchester United presently holds a 4–4 record in the Premier League, good enough for 10th place.

Beckham is a part owner of the soccer team Inter Miami, which recently secured a historic contract with soccer great Lionel Messi. In July, the club’s managing owner Jorge Mas indicated that the deal will result in a doubling of revenue for the soccer club in the coming year.
