Manchester United are having a tough time finding the back of the net despite making some key additions over the offseason. They are presently tied for second-worst in the Premier League in goals scored.
In the Champions League, Rasmus Hojlund has gotten off to a blazing start, but in the Premier League, he has yet to score.
Marcus Rashford, last season’s leading scorer, has struggled so far, scoring just once, while Anthony Martial, who was frequently reported to be leaving in January, is once again on the outside.
United’s front-line problems
This is why the team’s manager, Erik ten Hag, was pleading for a new striker to be signed. The manager implied at one point that restoring Mason Greenwood would make the offense more effective.

Despite the fact that the allegations against Greenwood were dismissed, there was a lot of backlash from supporters when word spread that there had been serious talks about reintroducing him to the squad.
The 22-year-old eventually decided not to return and, on transfer deadline day, completed a loan move to Getafe of La Liga.
He’s just played five games for his new team, but he’s already scored once and recorded an assist, catching the attention of large clubs prepared to take a chance on the youngster.
The Peoples Person recently stated that the forward is interested in staying with Getafe after his loan period ends.
Now, The Mirror reports that Sevilla is considering a transfer as well. The Champions League is clearly much more popular, but the Europa League champions get to play there every year.
Permanent contract talks between Sevilla and Greenwood
Mason Greenwood, a forward for Manchester United, reportedly wants to make his loan transfer to Getafe permanent.
Mirror Football hears that Sevilla are among a number of La Liga clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old, so Getafe may have some competition for his signature. The Red Devils have Greenwood under contract until June of 2025.
The majority of Greenwood’s salary are, allegedly, being paid for by United, therefore it makes sense for the club to try to sell him permanently as soon as possible.
Speculation has surfaced that the forward may return to United for the upcoming season, but this concept should be dismissed immediately.
