Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher said he can’t wait to prove his doubters wrong at Stamford Bridge

Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, says he enjoys playing with something to prove after struggling to earn consistent playing time under Mauricio Pochettino.

Gallagher has played in and captained the Blues in the absence of the injured Reece James in every Premier League game this season.

Spurs and West Ham United were among the teams rumored to be interested in signing Gallagher away from Chelsea during the summer.

However, the 23-year-old insists that he enjoys competing for playing time and is committed to making progress for Chelsea.

Gаllаgher respоnded, “Yeаh, I lоve it,” when аsked if fighting mоtivаtes him tо perfоrm аt his best.

To continue doing what I’m doing now and help Chelsea go up the table is my main goal. I think most times in my career I’ve had a point to prove, and I love the challenge.

Right now I think it’s really working, and the manager and I have a terrific relationship, so I’m optimistic that we can continue to improve as a team.

“I think I cоntribute а fighting аttitude tо the teаm, which is incredibly cruciаl. I put in my аbsоlute best effоrt аt аll times аnd try tо inspire my teаmmаtes tо dо the sаme.

To paraphrase the coach, “you could see that because everyone gave their all, everyone was brilliant in terms of work ethic, and it’s something we’re going to need going forward along with all the player’s qualities as well.”

Although Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea has gotten off to a rough start this season, the Blues are starting to show signs of improvement.

On Saturday, the Blues were leading Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, but two late goals from the Gunners resulted in a tie.

Despite the negatives, “we will definitely take a lot of positives,” Gallagher added.

We were hoping for a win, so the draw hurts right after the game, but I think we’ll be pleased with the effort once we’ve had some time to dwell on it. And, of course, the fact that Arsenal is our opponent is a positive.

I feel like we have more faith in ourselves as a unit, and we are learning each other’s games and working hard to get better as a unit. It takes time, but we’ve been doing better as of late.

You can’t knock the talent and work attitude in the group right now, and that takes time.

Everyone has high expectations, and everyone is giving their all in practice and games. Yes, it will take time, but the progress made in the last few games is encouraging.
