Savannah James recently made it explicit in a voiceover for a new Beats by Dre commercial that LeBron James not only aspires to play alongside his eldest son, Bronny, but also with his youngest son, Bryce.
“Tell them you’re not done until you play with your son,” she declares at the 1:30 mark, just as Bronny appears on-screen.
“Then do that, again,” she continues as Bronny’s image transitions to Bryce’s.
While LeBron’s desire to share the court with Bronny has been common knowledge for quite some time, it has been less clear whether he is genuinely pursuing the opportunity to play with Bryce. This is mainly because it would require LeBron to continue playing until at least the age of 42.
The prospect of LeBron joining forces with Bryce has been the subject of speculation, but it hasn’t been discussed as extensively as the potential LeBron-Bronny partnership. This is largely due to the fact that Bronny becomes eligible for the NBA Draft two years earlier than Bryce.
Bronny can declare for the draft as early as next year, while Bryce’s eligibility is expected to begin in 2026. LeBron, on the other hand, has a player option for the upcoming season, granting him the flexibility to leave the Los Angeles Lakers and join the team that drafts Bronny if he so chooses.
However, a recent report by The Athletic’s Joe Vardon suggests that insiders believe the Lakers will make every effort to ensure that LeBron can fulfill his desire to play alongside Bronny in Los Angeles.
