Rιvals ‘plan January transfer bid’ for Aaron Ramsdale after Arsenal offer him a way out

The England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is getting restless on the Arsenal bench, and the Blues are considering making a move to acquire him in the new year.

After the September victory over Manchester United, Ramsdale was benched in favor of David Raya by manager Mikel Arteta. Since Raya’s summer transfer from Brentford to the Gunners, the upcoming switch had been widely anticipated.

Since then, Ramsdale has been relegated to the bench while Raya has started every game while allowing six goals. Although the Spaniard has had a few shaky outings since replacing the England international, Arteta continues to back him. This may prompt Ramsdale to explore his options for a new club during the upcoming January transfer window, with Chelsea reportedly leading the pack. The Blues are reportedly keen on signing him as they have doubts about Robert Sanchez.

Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Sanchez has also struggled. On Saturday, he made a terrible error by passing the ball directly to Declan Rice, who scored. Chelsea is eager to take advantage of the current upheaval in London.

The Blues would prefer Ramsdale over Sanchez if he were traded to them. However, there are glaring roadblocks to this transaction going through, which may push Chelsea to look elsewhere. The first is that the Gunners are probably not going to want to allow Ramsdale join a team that was a major rival for a top-four berth against them in the past. Given Raya’s predicament, Arteta might also be plotting to reintegrate Ramsdale into the group.

Ramsdale may be reluctant to depart as well if he believes he can regain his position from the Spaniard. Arsenal is also in a position to provide Arteta Champions League football, although he currently appears content to remain with Raya.

When questioned if Raya was feeling the pressure, he responded, “I haven’t seen that of Raya, I haven’t see that.” That’s the stakes when you play for a major team. You’re in a situation where success and peak performance are required on a daily basis, and you have a partner that is constantly pushing you to improve.
