LeBron James quickly gained attention for his ability to score baskets. The Los Angeles Lakers forward scored ten points in the first half of the opening game of the 2023–24 NBA season. That may not seem like a remarkable accomplishment until you consider that the four-time league Most Valuable Player has now scored at least that many points in 1,152 games straight.
In the first half of Tuesday night’s away game against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, the defending NBA champs, LeBron James went 5-for-9 from the field for 10 points. James can still be practically unstoppable on the floor at the age of 38 because he still possesses an amazing combination of size, movement, and athleticism that allows him to make buckets quickly.
LeBron James shouldn’t be playing the way he is at this stage of his career. James appears to have several more seasons of playing left in him, unlike other stars his age who either retired from the game or were benched.
James truly has nothing more to prove, as he is already the NBA’s all-time scoring leader and a four-time champion, yet his passion for the game endures. Not to mention that the Lakers, who are anticipated to be among the top contenders for the NBA title in the 2023–24 season, still consider him to be an important member of the team.
LeBron James had a career average of 27.2 points per game on 50.5 percent shooting when he started the Nuggets game.
