Chelsea’s interest in Gavi, a player for Barcelona, is strong

The 19-year-old has made more than 100 games for Barcelona in all competitions, making him one of the best young midfielders in European sport. He signed a new long-term contract with the club last summer, although his future with them is uncertain due to their financial difficulties.

The Catalan giants are reportedly hesitant to sell their valuable assets, but they may need to in order to reduce their mounting debt, as reported by Sport. There have been numerous reported offers for both Gavi and Pedri, with Chelsea reportedly in pole position to get the former, who, should he leave, could be worth upwards of £87 million.

Aiming high

Since the 2023 January transfer window, Chelsea has adopted a new stance on making signings. They have prioritized signing young players who are just entering their prime. They may use Gavi in their plans without any problems. The kid normally plays in the middle of the field, although he can also go to the left side if necessary.

If Chelsea are looking for a new striker, they probably won’t spend a lot of money on him in January. Ivan Toney, a star player for Brentford, is among the main candidates they’re considering this winter. They might make an overture in the summer, though. The club must win him over to transfer to their team.

The London club has been eliminated from Europe for the time being, and their poor start to the season makes it doubtful that they will make the Champions League. Manager Mauricio Pochettino has a lot of work to do if he wants to turn this club back into a top-four contender in the coming months. For instance, if Manchester City were to compete with Chelsea for the highly regarded Spaniard, they would have an advantage.
