Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the biggest names in the NBA and all of American sports, and he recently signed a three-year, 186-million-dollar contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Despite the large compensation, Antetokounmpo did not spend as much time crunching figures as you might anticipate.
“It was the first time in my NBA career I didn’t know the number of my contract; I just signed it because I wanted to be here,” he told reporters at the time.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s appreciation for the Bucks
He was also quick to thank the Bucks organization for their support during his career and for allowing him to become one of the finest players in the NBA.
“I’m very loyal; when you were there for me in the beginning, I’m there for you for the rest of our lifetime,” Antetokounmpo said in a statement.
“I want to be dedicated. I’d like to offer something back to the city of Milwaukee.
“We won one championship, and I believe we can win another.”
“I will try my best while having fun playing the game, and I hope I can create another parade in the near future.”
Last season, Antetokounmpo averaged a career-high 31.1 points per game, and he will now play with seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard, who was acquired in an off-season trade.
The Bucks are attempting to win their third NBA championship this season, and with Antetokounmpo under contract, they are undoubtedly candidates.
