The’strongest duo’ of the Milwaukee Bucks establishes a record in the NBA’s first match

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 118-117, with both superstars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo setting personal records.

With his eighth basket in the game against the 76ers, the Greek “Demigod” broke basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 5,905 successful baskets on the court. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s previous record of 5,902 dunks dates back to 1975.

Damian Lillard, with 39 points in his first game, officially entered club history by becoming the player with the most points in his debut. Terry Cummings was the first to do this before Lillard, scoring 34 points in his debut game with the Bucks in 1984.

In his first win of the 2023/2024 NBA season, the former Portland Trail Blazers player scored 14 points in the fourth quarter and shot a perfect 17-of-17 from the free-throw line. With a scoring rate of up to 45%, the Milwaukee Bucks’ new atomic combo “pocketed” a total of 64 points.

It didn’t take long for Lillard to fit in and create an impression on his new squad. Following the game, he discussed how he approached and adapted to a new playing situation.

“I came here to win, and I think I’m starting to fit in.” My new teammates extended a warm welcome to me personally. This has increased my determination to contribute all of my abilities to the team and strive for the ultimate objective of winning the NBA championship,” Lillard remarked in the post-game press conference.
