United’s fitness levels got a lift. After missing time with a hamstring ιnjury, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is almost ready to rejoin the first team

According to reports, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has returned to Carrington and is getting ready to rejoin the first team.

In the dying minutes of United’s September loss to Brighton at Old Trafford in the Premier League, the right back injured his hamstring and had to be taken off the field. Wan-Bissaka has reportedly resumed training outside after a stint in the gym, however he is still putting in extra time to improve his fitness on his own.

United’s medical staff is hopeful they can get the defender back on the field within the next 10 days, but he will miss Sunday’s derby against Manchester City.

While regulars Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez will be out for a while, the full-back’s return will be welcome news for Red Devils supporters.

Wan-Bissaka could make his Carabao Cup debut on Wednesday night against Newcastle United if Erik ten Hag decides to start him. If not, the defender might play on November 4 against Fulham at Craven Cottage.ư

Roy Keane’s ’embarrassing’ Manchester United vs Man City verdict can be put right on derby day

There haven’t been many bright spots in Manchester United’s derby day history as of late.

Just twо оf Mаnchester City’s lаst eight mаtches аgаinst the Reds ended in а victоry fоr Liverpооl. The 2-1 victоry аt оld Trаffоrd lаst seаsоn wаs оne оf the few bright spоts during the pаst decаde; оthers include winning the leаgue dоuble in 2019-20 аnd cоming bаck frоm twо gоаls dоwn tо beаt Mаnchester City аt the Etihаd in 2018.

And too frequently, United has underwhelmed in those contests, failing to make an impression on its regional rivals and suffering multiple lifeless losses. Former Reds captain Roy Keane, who has been watching several of the recent games as a pundit for Sky Sports, is understandably frustrated by this development.

The former midfielder has been harshly critical of United’s lackluster play over the past several seasons and hopes to see an improvement this year. He has said that United is humiliating and unacceptable and that they are giving up and slacking up.

Afterwards, in October of 2022, Keane observed, “Nothing for United to take out of this game.” United had lost the match by a score of 6-3. The players have every right to feel ashamed of themselves. Even if Man City played brilliantly, going at halftime down four goals is unacceptable.

They were completely undone defensively in the middle of the field. Man United lacked direction, and their performance was flat. It’s tough for Manchester United, as they regularly take heavy losses when they aren’t playing up to par. Fantastic for Man City, but again, Man United has every right to be ashamed.

It’s one thing for Keane to be outclassed and outplayed, but United’s attitude in a few of the derby games has really gotten under his skin.

We saw all of United’s deficiencies today, the way United lost the game today they stopped sprinting,” he observed following a 4-1 thrashing in March of 2022. I think they gave up because they didn’t have a running back, which is unacceptable for Man United. They’re playing a good team, but they still have to tackle and run back, and that performance was indicative of how far behind the other clubs they really are.

It was an easy night for City, and they’ll be sitting in that dressing room thinking how pleasant it was,” he stated in 2019 following a 2-0 loss. After intermission, United never really got going.

I’m sure the City players were shocked by how easy it was to win the derby tonight. The United players seem to be coasting whenever possible, at least that’s the impression I’m getting.

Despite United’s sluggish start to the season, now is their moment to show Keane, their fans, and the rest of the football world what they’re made of against their opponents. If they don’t, their veteran coach won’t hold back once the season is in full swing.
