The Milwaukee Bucks won their first game of the season, and Giannis Antetokounmpo set another franchise record.
Giannis broke another Milwaukee record as he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most field goals made in franchise history.
As a Milwaukee player, the Greek Freak now has 5,903 field goals. In his six seasons with the Bucks, Abdul-Jabbar made 5,902 field goals.
Who is the greatest Buck?
Giannis eclipsed Kareem’s franchise record with 23 points on 10-of-22 shooting in a 118-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
Giannis is building a strong case for being the greatest player in the history of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Giannis, the 15th overall choice in the 2013 NBA Draft by Milwaukee, is already the club leader in points, assists, and games played.
The Greek Freak also leads the team in minutes played and blocks (907). Giannis has two MVP honors and one NBA championship as a Buck.
On the job
Antetokounmpo will attempt to lead the Bucks back to the top this season after they failed to go past the first round last season. They began the new season on a positive note, rallying from eight points behind in the fourth quarter to defeat the Sixers.
Damian Lillard scored 39 points in his Milwaukee debut, including the team’s final 11 points. Coach Adrian Griffin was impressed with the two All-Star teammates.
