Despite losing to Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino has apologized to Brentford for sending off Jesus Perez

The Blues’ third home loss of the season dropped them to 11th position in the Premier League table, below their west London rivals.

Despite a strong start to the game in which they pinned Brentford inside their own box for long stretches, Pochettino’s side was unable to capitalize on their several scoring opportunities.

Assistant coach Jesus Perez was sent off by referee Simon Hooper in the second half for a collision with Brentford’s coaching staff during a tense west London rivalry.

On behalf of his longtime assistant, Pochettino has apologized, saying that he was just attempting to get the ball back swiftly in front of the visitors’ dugout so Chelsea could begin the match in quest of an equalizer that never came.

A common occurrence. Upon being questioned as to his presence, he responded, “I want to take the ball,” to their questions. That settles the matter. It ends here.

Pochettino said, “I think the rule is to be banned” when asked if Perez was not allowed to join him at the post-match press conference because of the red card. If I were you, I would stay away.

I think the analysis of the defeat is straightforward because after the first half we should score and we didn’t score,” the Chelsea manager elaborated following the team’s loss. When you have complete control of the game and consistently put yourself in scoring positions while limiting your opponent to few, if any, of their own, you may rest easy.

Yes, I believe you should win. We were not vicious or clinical enough in front of the net, and therefore, we have just ourselves to blame for not scoring. The chances we had to score were missed.

‘You know, sometimes you need some luck to score, and once the game changed in the second half, I think we give the belief because we didn’t score and the second half, I think we cannot concede these types of goals,’ he said. We were at fault. Because of that, we can’t win the game.
