Giannis Antetokounmpo Relied on Brother Thanasis’ Counsel for Contract Extension Decision

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the standout player for the Milwaukee Bucks, is a devoted family man. When it comes to making important decisions in life or in his professional career, the “Greek Freak” frequently consults his family, unlike other NBA stars who would surround themselves with childhood friends or a management team.

Giannis just agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks, and he disclosed that he received significant assistance in his decision-making from his brother Thanasis.

Giannis declared, “Obviously, I trust Thanasis to death.” “Since my birth, Thanasis and I have never been apart. We hadn’t disappeared. He has my back in so many ways and always watches out for me. In so many ways, I’ve had his back. I have complete faith in this judgment.

Choice that made logic
Giannis had previously stated that it made no sense to sign an extension this year. He ultimately decided otherwise, though, and inked an agreement that was purportedly for $186 million. According to Antetokounmpo, if Thanasis hadn’t encouraged it, it wouldn’t have happened.

Antetokounmpo continued, “As I previously stated, I trust Thanasis’ judgment to the death.”

“He approached me and assured me that everything will make sense. While many only know me as a basketball player, he knows me as a brother. It will relieve you of a great deal of burdens. You’ll be able to provide for your family and create riches that will last generations for your kids and grandkids. Just concentrate on the things that bring you joy. What brings you joy? Everyone knows that it’s basketball.

No more discussions about contracts

Giannis claims that having his contract situation settled allows him to just concentrate on basketball every time he takes the court, with his future in Milwaukee assured for the foreseeable future.

There will be no more persistent queries about his future playing location or the squad he will play for in the upcoming campaigns. He understands that he can only concentrate on honing his profession and improving now that all of the extraneous distractions are off his plate.

“I enjoy doing things well. I enjoy achieving achievements. Being able to play at a high level appeals to me. That’s what makes me happy; however, it goes without saying that I also like spending time with my family and my children. However, because I’m skilled at what I do, I want to invest a lot of time—blood, sweat, tears, and all—in the court because I want to be excellent at it. That’s what I’m primarily focused on right now. It isn’t contract negotiation. It’s not a team meeting. All it is is basketball. That is my desired outcome. My relatives also advised me to follow their recommendations. Thus, yes, I accepted it.
