After another humiliation at the hands of Man City, Arsene Wenger feels bad for Manchester United

Manchester City won 3-0 at Old Trafford, and after the game, Arsene Wenger claimed he “felt sorry” for Manchester United.

The team coached by Erik ten Hag turned in a terrible effort, getting completely outplayed by their opponents, who handed them their sixth Premier League loss of the year. Man U is in last place in the league, eight points out of the top four with only 10 games played and only 15 points.

After the loss, in which Erling Haaland scored twice and Phil Foden added a third, the former Arsenal manager went on beIN Sports to argue that City’s triumph was well-deserved and that the “fighting spirit” within the Man United club had been destroyed.

The Frenchman commented, “Well deserved, I would say.” The gap between the two teams widened as the game progressed. You can’t help but feel bad for Man United, given the magnitude of the club, because the club’s future is so bleak. I just can’t think of any ways in which they could be better.

This club has lost confidence, quality, and even spirit today,” the three-time Premier League champion continued. Plus, Man United didn’t show a lot of fight, in my opinion. Marcus Rashford, who started for the home team, had another subpar game in which he failed to score.’

This season, the England international has had a tough time finding the back of the net, scoring just once in 10 league appearances and going scoreless in his past nine outings across all competitions. His goal-scoring woes are a far cry from last season, when he scored 30 times across all competitions and 17 times in the Premier League.

Gary Neville, a former United captain, said after the game, “Rashford has been nowhere near his best,” and the forward, who turned 26 on Tuesday (October 31) and is therefore supposed to be entering his best years as a footballer, seems to have taken a confidence hit as the team as a whole has failed to score in three games so far this season.
