Mauricio Pochettino opens up about the team’s poor play, saying that the manager is suffering from a Chelsea hangover

Mauricio Pochettino has stated that his youthful Chelsea club is still feeling the effects of last season’s dismal performance.

After Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Brentford, Chelsea have collected just five points in six home matches under Pochettino.

Since Thomas Frank’s teams have only won twice at Stamford Bridge in the last seven months, the goals scored by Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo have put Chelsea on a winless run of 13 home league matches.

Pochettino, who has previously downplayed the significance of Chelsea’s legacy difficulties, now acknowledges that some remain.

“Yes, it is something we need to fix,” he stated of his team’s problems. We’ve made several attempts to pinpoint it. However, this wasn’t only a problem this season; it also occurred last year under a different set of coaches.

I wоn’t even pretend tо be cоncerned, but I knоw I hаve tо figure оut whаt tо dо. I dоn’t meаn the аge оf the plаyers when I sаy, “I think we need tо be mоre mаture, we аre still sо yоung аs а teаm.”

Since the team has fallen to 11th place in the Premier League, the mood among the faithful has been increasingly subdued.

When asked what it would take to restore west London’s reputation as a forbidding place to play, Pochettino replied, “It is about creating a good atmosphere.”

The fans and the squad need you to be on the right track. The crew has to put forth work that the audience can have faith in.We have many good players, but we are still so young as a team that it is just a matter of time before we break through.

“Of course, it’s not always simple to establish trust, grow up, and accept. It’s important to maintain composure as a character, even if the game is heading in a path you’d rather it didn’t. That requires time, and having the maturity to appreciate the value of that commodity.

It’s not about the Chelsea way of thinking or the badge, because the Blues have always had a winning mindset.

The logo, the team, and the supporters are irrelevant. Given the team’s relative youth, we must maintain a similarly high level of performance at all times.

“We are competing, but missing things,” Pochettino continued. When all the players are healthy and in good shape, I believe we will have a good equilibrium.

Chelsea will play Blackburn in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday in the hopes of getting some of their nine injured players back in time for Saturday’s trip to league leaders Tottenham, which will begin a challenging stretch of league matches.
