Lakers Injury Update: Gabe Vincent to undergo re-evaluation in 2 weeks while Hachimura in concussion protocol

The Los Angeles Lakers have disclosed that Gabe Vincent will undergo re-evaluation in two weeks due to left knee effusion, which will keep him sidelined for at least the next few games.

The Lakers embark on a four-game road trip commencing on Saturday night against the Orlando Magic. This journey also includes matchups against Vincent’s former team, the Miami Heat, as well as the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns.

Vincent was absent from the Lakers’ recent game against the Clippers on Wednesday after sustaining a knee injury during the win over the Magic on Monday. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham revealed that his knee experienced swelling, and upon evaluation, it was determined that the injury is significant enough to require some time off.

The Lakers have encountered a challenging start to the season due to injuries, with key players like Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Taurean Prince all spending time on the sidelines. For a newly formed team aiming to establish cohesion, having multiple essential components sidelined so early in the season is far from ideal.

Vincent faced back issues in the latter part of the preseason, and although he managed to return for the season opener, he has struggled to find his rhythm in the four games he’s played. The first-year Lakers guard has posted an average of six points and three assists while shooting 39.3% from the field and 7.1% from beyond the arc.
