Luis Diaz rescued Liverpool and conveyed a meaningful message to his father

In round 11 of the Premier League, Liverpool only had to play as a guest against newly promoted team Luton Town. This is a club that is struggling, having only won 1 out of 10 matches since the beginning of the season.

In fact, in this match, Liverpool controlled the ball 74% and launched 24 shots. Among them, high-performing striker Darwin Nunez had many misses.

But Luton Town was the team that surprised everyone when they opened the scoring in the 80th minute thanks to Tahith Chong. This forced coach Jurgen Klopp to send Luis Diaz onto the field in the 83rd minute. The Colombian striker had to miss some of Liverpool’s matches recently because his father was being held by a group of rebels in the country.

At minute 90+5, he became a hero with a close-range header to equalize 1-1. Immediately after the goal, Diaz took off his jersey and revealed a white shirt inside with the words: “Release my dad.”

Despite only having 1 point against Luton Town, Liverpool still squeezed into the top 3 with 24 points.
