Anthony Davis leaves the Heat game due to a “hip spasm.”
Anthony Davis left the game against the Heat in the second half of the Lakers’ game after sustaining a leg ιnjury late in the first half.
The Lakers have had numerous ιnjury problems this season, but none could be more serious than the one they encountered in the first half of Monday’s game. Anthony Davis left the game against the Heat late in the second quarter due to what seemed to be a left leg ιnjury.
An update was given by Shams Charania of The Athletic during halftime, stating that Davis had suffered a very unusual ailment in the form of a “groin spasm,” however he would later clarify himself and refer to it as a hip spasm.
Davis would try to play in the second half after warming up during the interval. However, Davis was obviously hindered by the ιnjury and would be hauled out of the game, forcing the Lakers to call a timeout just two minutes into the third quarter. Once more, he would head straight to the locker room at the intermission.
But hold on! More is there!
Davis seemed to have finished his night, but he came back shortly after, having worked harder in the locker room. This time, he appeared considerably more at ease.
Although it did not prevent him from playing, Davis’ hip ιnjury during the previous spring’s playoffs was occasionally apparent. But while the ιnjury on Monday affected his left hip, that was on his right hip.
Davis was obviously hindered by the ιnjury, even if it didn’t occur during any noteworthy play. Before the Lakers called a timeout, Davis had to play a few defensive possessions while limping, indicating that the ιnjury was serious.
The next concern will be how much Davis will be impacted by this and whether it’s an ιnjury that will prevent him from playing for a while. The Lakers cannot afford to lose Davis due to ιnjury, even in optimal condition, and they are far, far from optimal health.
