As the Los Angeles Lakers gear up to face the Houston Rockets, they have received a mixed bag of injury news. While Rui Hachimura is looking probable to make a return, both Anthony Davis and Jaxson Hayes remain questionable for the upcoming game.
All eyes are on Anthony Davis, who left Monday’s game against the Miami Heat due to left hip spasms during the first half. Despite attempting a return in the third quarter, he couldn’t tough it out.
Davis, however, expressed confidence that he would be fit to play in Houston. Whether he gets the green light may depend on a game-time decision after warmups, and his readiness to perform at his best.
Rui Hachimura, who had been in concussion protocol after taking a shot to the face in a game against the Sacramento Kings, is now considered probable. Head coach Darvin Ham mentioned that Hachimura has been progressing well in his workouts and is on track for a return on Wednesday.
Speaking about Jaxson Hayes, Ham highlighted that the Lakers are taking a cautious approach to his sprained left ankle. In a different part of the season or the playoffs, Hayes might have been able to play through it. However, given the early stage of the season, the Lakers are opting for a safer approach, ensuring Hayes makes a full recovery.
