Paul Scholes rips on one of Man United’s players, saying, ‘his legs have gone’ following the team’s loss in Copenhagen

They were up 2-0 and 3-2 at different stages in the game, but Erik ten Hag’s squad managed to both shoot itself in the foot and receive some bad calls from the referees, resulting in a 4-3 loss. It puts Manchester United bottom of the Champions League group with just three points and needing to overcome Galatasaray away and Bayern Munich at home to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stages.

With nine losses already this season across all competitions, this is a telling loss for United, as it means they have now lost in three of their four Champions League matches to far.

Despite persistent calls for his dismissal, Ten Hag appears to have support from Old Trafford’s upper echelons. After a pivotal meeting with the new minority stakeholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have given Ten Hag his support as well.

In the meanwhile, Ten Hag needs to figure out quite a number of difficulties within the club. Although the issues surrounding Jadon Sancho are well known, he will likely be more concerned with the United team on the field and how they keep losing games.

Scholes questions Fernandes’ leadership and says he hasn’t done enough to help United’s promising young striker, Ola Hojlund.

Scholes called out the Portuguese skipper, saying, “I think Bruno Fernandes needs to help Hojlund a bit more,” in an interview with TNT Sports. This young man is a foreign import who has yet to score in the Premier League. Please assist him; he’s so young.

Because he spends half the game wandering all over the field, I believe that Fernandes should position himself as close to the player as possible. This child will score goals if you just do your job and help him out.

To paraphrase, “He’s very young and inexperienced, but the lad can finish, we’ve seen that, it’s just a question of getting the chances.”

In the second half, United was leading 3-2 when Fernandes scored from the penalty spot. However, one of the most iconic outcomes in Copenhagen’s history was cemented by late concessions to Lukas Lerager and 17-year-old Roony Bardghji.

TҺey’re gоing tо plаy bigger teаms tҺаn CоpenҺаgen, but I tҺоugҺt tҺere wаs sоme figҺt in tҺe perfоrmаnce,” ScҺоles sаiԀ аs Һe аnаlyzeԀ tҺe teаm’s preԀicаment.

They need a little bit of leadership. Perhaps things might have turned out differently if Casemiro had been present. That collapse is what’s killing them right now. Once they concede one, the second one is constantly coming.”

Raphael Varane supposedly “lost his legs”

Scholes is also dissatisfied with the performance of Raphael Varane, whose impending sale to Saudi Arabia for a hefty sum was just reported exclusively by us.

Although he is physically capable of coming off the bench, he has only played a total of seven minutes in the last three Premier League games.

On Wednesday night, however, Varane was called upon to come off the bench in place of Jonny Evans in the 15th minute.

However, Scholes thinks the ex-Real Madrid player may have lost some of his speed and his current form is very concerning.

Considering he got Varane into the team—Jonny was a free transfer—I was a little startled [by the pick], ” Scholes stated on TNT Sports. None of his center backs are very speedy, so whichever he plays will have to rely on counterattacks.

“Varane was swift and now, is he losing his legs a little bit? They have to rely on that speed a little bit.

Despite the manager’s repeated calls for a steady back four and a reliable holding midfielder, I don’t believe he has either. He has a lot of trouble picking a team that is in form and can get the job done since he has so many players who have been inconsistent and out of form.

Those that made the trip back with United early Wednesday morning will get Thursday off before getting back to work Friday to prepare for Saturday’s home game against Luton Town.

The Dutchmаn will be tempted tо get his plаyers in аnd try tо ensure thаt results like thаt аt Pаrken Stаdium dо nоt hаppen аgаin, but it remаins tо be seen if Ten Hаg keeps tо his strаtegy.
