Steve Kerr provides positive update on Steph Curry’s recovery from knee injury

In a recent interview on 95.7 The Game’s Willard & Dibs, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared encouraging news regarding the progress of superstar Stephen Curry’s recovery from a sore right knee.

Kerr stated, “He’s feeling a lot better, and he went through all of practice. I think there’s a decent chance he plays tomorrow (November 18 against the Oklahoma City Thunder).”

Curry sustained the knee injury during the second half of the Warriors’ November 12 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after a hard fall. Fortunately, the MRI results revealed no structural damage, providing relief for both Curry and the Warriors organization.

Despite the absence of Curry in the following two games, the Warriors faced offensive challenges, particularly for his Splash Brother, Klay Thompson. In the game against the Thunder on November 16, Thompson struggled, marking the second-worst shooting performance of his career, scoring only five points on 1-of-10 shooting.

Curry’s potential return is anticipated to inject new energy into the Warriors’ offense, which has been sputtering in his absence, averaging only 105 points on 41.3% shooting. The two-time MVP has been in stellar form this season, averaging 30.7 points on 48.8% shooting, including an impressive 44.6% from beyond the arc. If Curry returns, Chris Paul, who started in Curry’s absence, is likely to resume his role with the second unit.

The Warriors, currently on a season-high five-game losing streak, are hopeful that Curry’s return will provide the spark needed to secure a victory and turn the tide for the team.
