Liverpool negotiates to recruit Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips used to be a pillar of Leeds United, he was recruited by Man City for a transfer fee of 42 million pounds. However, the player born in 1995 could not prove his ability at Etihad Stadium, he now only plays a reserve role at The Citizens.

Although he is not used at Man City, Kalvin Phillips is still in coach Gareth Southgate’s plans for the England team. This midfielder still starts in important matches for the Three Lions in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

With the Euro finals taking place next summer, Kalvin Phillips knows he must play regularly to ensure a starting position. He is willing to leave Man City if he receives a good offer. According to ESPN, Liverpool is initially negotiating with Man City about a plan to transfer Kalvin Phillips in the Eastern market in January 2024.

Liverpool is preparing to say goodbye to Thiago Alcantara. Jurgen Klopp wants Kalvin Phillips to supplement the midfield and compete for the Premier League title as well as the Europa League. The Kop wants to borrow the former Leeds player in January. If he plays well, they will buy him outright for a fee of 25 to 30 million pounds.

In addition to Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle are also interested in the English midfielder. For Man City, in case of parting ways with Kalvin Phillips, they prioritize selling him outright to earn some money instead of letting the midfielder leave on loan.
