Ja Morant is aiming for a December comeback by doing special actions

With the Memphis Grizzlies struggling with an NBA-worst 1-8 start, the anticipation for Ja Morant’s return is high. However, fans will have to wait until mid-December when the two-time All-Star guard’s 25-game suspension is set to conclude.

Despite not being able to attend games due to the suspension, Morant is actively engaged with the team during practices, film sessions, individual workouts, and various team activities. Coach Taylor Jenkins highlighted Morant’s positive attitude and continued involvement, emphasizing his commitment to supporting the team despite the challenging circumstances.

Morant’s suspension stems from two incidents where he was filmed displaying a gun on social media. The first suspension occurred in March after a video showed him with a gun at a strip club in Denver. The second suspension, for 25 games, was imposed at the beginning of this season following another video recorded inside a car in May.

Coach Jenkins acknowledged the frustration for Morant and the team, recognizing the impact of his absence. Morant is actively preparing for his return on December 19 against New Orleans, aiming to contribute with his basketball IQ, leadership, and positive presence.

While Morant is eager to return to action, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has outlined the need for Morant to address and rectify the circumstances leading to his repeated behavior before being allowed back on the court.
