You are the one true gift from God that I have received in my life, my son. That God blesses me with good health today and every day, that He keeps my childhood as a gift, that I will do all in my power to see this through, and that my love for you is unwavering.
I think you still don’t fully grasp the power you offer me; it’s only been four years, but that’s more than enough time to make me stronger than before; in those four years, I experienced genuine love for the first time; I had no idea it could materialize until I met you! Seeing you makes me feel the boundless love and concern of God for me, and there aren’t enough words to describe how I feel.My kid, I strive to be the best version of myself because of how much I adore you.My prince, you will always have a wonderful life.
Luke Shaw’s return will benefit two key Manchester United players
After what seems like an endless string of injury problems for Manchester United, Erik ten Hag must be patiently waiting for the tide to shift.
The international break in November proved that, when it comes to fitness, one stride forward always appears to be followed by two strides back. United lost Christian Eriksen to a knee injury and Rasmus Hojlund to a hamstring injury before the final whistle in their 1-0 home victory over Luton Town had even gone.
It was great news for four days when Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana were both sidelined by international duty, but now we hear that the latter is scheduled to return this month, possibly against Everton on Sunday or Galatasaray midweek.Onana missed Cameroon’s match against Libya last night, but Rashford only played six minutes in Monday’s match against North Macedonia. With no new problems to report, some may be optimistic that the team’s fortunes are turning. Ten Hag may even get Luke Shaw back this weekend, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be available to play against Everton after a recent sickness.
Because United is notoriously cagey about revealing injury timelines, fans have had little more than “a number of weeks” to keep track of as the left defender suffered a muscle problem in August’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham. Even though Ten Hag said he wouldn’t be back before the November international break, that time has passed, and now everyone will be watching training closely to see if he’s actually there.
There aren’t many red-shirted United fans who are as excited about Shaw’s return as Marcus Rashford, who may be the owner of two of those eyeballs. The team’s lynchpin and leading scorer from last season has been a little contributor, with no goals in 16 games and no scoring since early September.
While Rashford’s problems have several causes, one of them is that he hasn’t had a reliable left back. He and Shaw were inseparable on that side last season, and they worked together superbly to play to each other’s strengths.
Shaw frequently used the overlap and occupied defenders to set up Rashford for quick bursts into the box and opportunities to fire. In the absence of such diversionary dash, the Reds winger frequently scans the field for full-backs, wingers, and central defenders from the other team before circling back to recover the ball.
Those overlapping routes were never a dummy, of course, but Hojlund might be drooling at the thought of getting service from large areas. Shaw has more Premier League crosses into the box and more passes into the final third than any United player last season.
While the 20-year-old isn’t entirely to blame—he has blown multiple excellent scoring chances—he hasn’t scored in domestic football yet because he hasn’t received high-quality assistance that plays to his abilities. He scored nearly identical goals in two Champions League matches, one against Galatasaray and the other against FC Copenhagen, by racing towards the goal and finishing off pinged crosses from Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford, respectively.
In particular, Hojlund has not been getting enough opportunities to score from the left side, since both McTominay and Rashford came in from the right. Shaw is going to alter that.
Shaw might make a brief return to the starting lineup and play center back in Ten Hag’s preferred formation (with a left footer on the left for build-up play), but other possibilities like Victor Lindelof or Jonny Evans are also available. In addition to enhancing that area immediately, playing Shaw at left back might free up United’s two most dangerous attackers for future attacks.
