When the January transfer market opens, Paris Saint-Germain may compete for a center-back. However, the question remains: which player will the French behemoths be aiming to bolster their defense?
Inter Milan, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain are vying for the signing of Tiago Djalo, who will soon become a free agent, according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews. The 23-year-old faces intense competition when his contract expires in June 2024.
The Italian media source claims that Inter Milan is still in the lead over the competition in terms of recruiting Djalo. Piero Ausilio, the sports director of the Serie A team, has been monitoring the player’s progress for the past eighteen months or so.
The 23-year-old played for the Primavera team while rising through the levels at Sporting Lisbon. He also had a brief experience with AC Milan. However, in 2019, the Rossoneri traded him to Lille OSC.
While developing at the French Club, Djalo has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most promising young center-backs. It is not surprising that PSG is interested in the young defender, given that they have signed top Portuguese talent to complement the French core.
It’s difficult to see Lille giving up one of their finest defenders in order to compete in the UEFA Champions League next year. However, when 2024 rolls around, he can sign a pre-contract.
