Player ratings for Manchester United: Andre Onana has a nightmare in Istanbul after committing two costly mistakes; Bruno Fernandes sets the tone for the team

United blew a two-goal lead in Europe once again, putting their Champions League aspirations in jeopardy.

Even though Erik ten Hag’s team appeared to be in control after racing into a two-goal lead, everything quickly fell apart, turning what should have been a comfortable evening for Andre Onana into yet another nightmare.

Hakim Ziyech, a former Chelsea winger, scored twice from free-kicks, and United were once more frustrated when substitute Kerem Aktürkoğlu equalized United’s third goal through Scott McTominay.

It makes United’s chances of advancing extremely slim, as they will need to defeat Bayern Munich in the last round and pray for a draw between FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

André Onana – four

Bet on Hakim Ziyech’s first free-kιck and lost, then made a catastrophic mistake that allowed the former Chelsea player to score the second goal, bringing the score to 3-2. The horror he endured in Munich against Bayern kept coming back to Will.

Yay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka!

His pin-point pass to Scott McTominay on the breakaway made it 3-1, and he was instrumental in the first two goals as well. With him on the squad, United are a whole different beast. Blocking off.

Sean Maguire – 6.5

Is now one of Manchester United’s most valuable players; made a tremendous block on Wilfried Zaha with the score tied at 2-1. His vast amounts of experience were helpful, but they weren’t enough to win a challenging road game.

Lindelof, Victor — six

Played a key role in a defense that let three goals in, but otherwise held his own. Leaving Mainoo unprotected while setting up Akturkoglu for the equalizer at 3-3 was a disappointing decision.

Matthew Shaw – 5.5ư

Despite not playing much in the past few months, he was trusted enough to return to the starting lineup against Everton. Fought off Ziyech, who scored twice, and he struggled. Blocking off.

5Sofyan Amrabat

Picked 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo right away because of his background in a demanding setting, but he struggled to gain control of the game. Despite a promising beginning, his loan period seems to have Һit a wall. Captured in the early hours. Blocking off.

Scott McTominay ranks 6.5

Was mostly a bystander throughout the first half, but scored United’s third goal, showcasing his exceptional skills. Rather than serving as a defensive screen, he is at his best when playing further forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 7

Got United off to a great start with his first Champions League goal, and he continued to be a handful for the home team after that. His icy demeanor is an asset to a club like Manchester United, which is no small feat.

“Bosco Fernandes”—7.5

Teemed up Garnacho before scoring a breathtaking goal, his first of the season in the Champions League. Although his effort was always commendable, he did concede the free-kιck from which Ziyech scored the first goal. Blocking off.

Anthony— five

As United dominated the first half and jumped out to a 2-0 lead, he had a number of good moments but then he disappeared. Didn’t provide nearly enough, considering he was kept on when others were removed.

6-Rasmus Hojlund

His astute hold-up set up Garnacho for the opening run, but Fernandes was largely restrained thereafter. He was hooked before the hour even passed, and he was only getting back on the field after an ιnjury.

Supervisor: Erik ten Hag – 5.5

Another two-goal lead blown in Europe, leaving the Dutchman with a painful feeling of déjà vu. Even though the score remained 11–11, his substitutions failed to have an impact, in contrast to Galatasaray’s. Before the Bayern game, they have no control over destiny.

With Nelsson on the bench, Galatasaray’s starting lineup consists of Muslera(6), Boey(6), Bardakci(6), Ayhan(5), and Angelino(6). Torreira(6) and Ndombele(4) are substituted for Sergio Oliveira(60,6.5), Ziyech(8), Mertens(6), Zaha(5), and Icardi(6).

Not used: Bakambu, Karatas, Guvenc, Tete.

Ziyech (29, 62) and Akturkoglu (71) scored.

International referee Jose Maria Sanchez of Spain – 6.
