You can sаy a lot about Manchester United under Erik ten Hag by the fact that no one is surprised that Bournemouth triumphed at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag is not the right manager for United if they want to eat at the highest table in English football again.
With Ten Hag at the helm, United just do not have the players to compete with Liverpool, City, and Arsenal. After a strong debut season, I don’t see any team making strides. One of them is falling further and further behind, and I don’t think that will ever improve under Ten Hag’s leadership.
Naturally, Ten Hag isn’t entirely to blame. A lot of United’s issues are bigger than him. It would be beneficial for some of the participants to examine themselves as well.
Despite Ten Hag’s considerable influence, United’s recruitment efforts have yielded no successful signings thus far. It is his fault if some of the players don’t look motivated; he also has to improve his tactical game.
It seems like every time I watch United play, they’re completely exposed and too easy to beаt. Every time they play a decent side, they come out on the losing end. Defeated against Tottenham. Defeated by Arsenal. At Brighton, they were defeated. They were humiliated by Bayern Munich. They were defeated by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Galatasaray also did. Manchester City went to that place and blew them away.
Manager of the month awards and recent victories have obscured serious issues. To defeat Fulham, they required a goal in the 88th minute. At Old Trafford, they prevailed over Luton by a single goal. One point separated them at Sheffield United. To defeat Brentford, they required two goals in the 88th minute.
The win against Chelsea in midweek just served to cover up the problems. Chelsea repeatedly sliced through them.
It was three goals scored by Bournemouth, and it could have been four. This outcome further solidified United’s predicament. United would prefer not to be in a situation where they lose by five goals at Anfield. They suffered a 7–7 defeat in March at that venue. It only takes a comparable surrender for things to shift.
United should certainly fire Ten Hag and bring in a new manager to figure out what the team needs if they want to reach their goals this season. I always assumed United would keep him to the end.
The unfortunate thing is that, despite Ten Hag’s likeability, the United job seems to have come a little too soon for him.
He was never tasked with managing superstars at Ajax. Being a member of one of the world’s most famous clubs spared him the trouble of being under the spotlight all the time. He’s trying to learn as he goes along, but it’s not going well. Neither the style nor the manager will change unless anything changes.
They need a strategy, because a shift is necessary. United should not fire Ten Hag at this time unless they have a clear plan for the future. Unfortunately, United clearly chose the wrong manager.
You would be like, “Oh my God!” if Bournemouth beаt City 3-0. Had they defeated Arsenal by a score of three, you would have acted similarly. Then you just shrug your shoulders and let them do it on United. It is thus said.
