The Riyadh Season Cup preseason schedule for Messi’s Inter Miami was revealed by the team on Monday night.

Since Messi, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and Argentina’s 2022 World Cup champion, joined the MLS team this summer, Inter Miami has made a concerted effort to expand its brand abroad.

The matches have been added to Inter Miami’s worldwide preseason tour and are slated to take place prior to Messi’s sophomore campaign.

These games will test our squad, which will be beneficial as the new season approaches. In the same statement, Inter Miami’s Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson said, “We’re excited for our group to get up against teams with as much quality as Al-Hilal and Al Nassr.”

Inter Miami announced nearly three weeks ago that it would not be participating in the Riyadh Season Cup.

The matchup between Messi and Ronaldo could be the last chance for soccer fans around the globe to debate who the best player in the league is.

Messi, 36, and Ronaldo, 38, have shared 13 Ballon d’Or awards between them; Messi recently won his eighth, making him the player with the most. Next in line with five Ballon d’Ors is Ronaldo.

Moreover, a confrontation between them at this stage of their careers would only serve to intensify the never-ending debate among soccer supporters regarding the superior player.

In their most recent meeting earlier this year, Messi and Paris Saint-Germain triumphed 5-4 over Ronaldo and a group of Saudi all-stars. Both Messi and Ronaldo scored goals during the game.

The national teams of El Salvador and Inter Miami will play at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador on January 19.

In addition, the Hong Kong Team, which consists of the best players from the Hong Kong First Division League, will play Inter Miami in Hong Kong on February 4.

Messi and Inter Miami could have a thrilling year in 2024 with games in their MLS regular season schedule in addition to tournaments like the Concacaf Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, U.S. Open Cup, and MLS postseason (assuming Inter Miami qualifies).

Messi might also represent Argentina in 2024 Copa America matches and additional 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
