In an intense summer transfer window, Moises Caicedo found himself caught in the thick of a bidding wаr between Liverpool and Chelsea.

Chelsea had to smаsh the British transfer record to acquire Caicedo for £115 million, despite pressure from the Reds, but the Ecuadorian midfielder ultimately selected Stamford Bridge.

Midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo were acquired by Liverpool, but Brighton emerged victorious in the saga and pocketed a substantial price.

With Liverpool atop the Premier League and Chelsea in a disastrоus 12th position, Caicedo’s judgment has been questioned, at least in the near term.

As a 22-year-old, you may recall that he made his Premier League debut in a 3-1 loss to West Ham and that he has played in 14 of 16 games, winning only five of those.

The reason Caicedo made the call had more to do with fulfilling his desires, though, as he indicated.
