Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is already outperforming Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, according to Joe Cole, who thinks Arsenal will have to spend more than £100 million to acquire Luiz.

Among Arsenal’s midfield objectives for the upcoming January transfer window is the Brazilian.

The 25-year-old was rewarded with a new deal by Villa last year, which keeps him committed to the club until 2026. However, it is understood that the Gunners would have to sell players to finance the move.

Cole is also certain that if Arsenal wаnted to get one of Villa’s important players to sell, they would have to make another big-money move.

Despite interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool, Luiz has insisted that staying at Villa is his choice.
