Giannis Antetokounmpo, an NBA player, was furious with the Indiana Pacers after he said they had stolen his game ball.
The 29-year-old forward for the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Pacers 140-126 on Wednesday, scoring a franchise-high 64 points.
Giannis broke his own career-high mark and grabbed 14 rebounds in an almost faultless performance.

The Bucks star dropped a franchise-record 64 points in a towering performance
But he had to be restrained by desperate coaches after the Pacers took the game ball
But after his bravery at the Fiserv Forum, he got into an odd altercation with Pacers players and staff.
After putting up the shocking figures to lead his club to a 17-7 start in the NBA season, the Greek star asked to be given the game ball.
Nevertheless, TV cameras saw Antetokounmpo racing down the tunnel after a Pacers assistant coach who was carrying the game ball to the opposing locker room.
According to the New York Post, Giannis made an attempt to “enter the Pacers locker room” in order to get his memento from a game that broke records.
Shortly after, he returned to the court without the ball while coaches tried to reassure Antetokounmpo and his teammates.
Oscar Tshiebwe, a rookie in the NBA, hit his first basket and the Pacers official wanted to give him the ball.
Coach Rick Carlisle clarified, “There’s a misunderstanding about the game ball,” according to Bleacher Report.
Oscar Tshiebwe scored his first-ever NBA point, thus naturally, we win the game ball every time.
“We weren’t considering Giannis’ [64-point] franchise record. After we seized the ball, some of their players ended up in our corridor a short while later.
“There was a major argument. No blows were exchanged, but my general manager was elbowed in the ribs.”
An NBA Insider said that Bucks security was able to “retrieve the ball” for the two-time MVP.
Giannis, nevertheless, insisted that the ball that was sent to him wasn’t the one that was in play at the time.
“It doesn’t feel like the game ball to me,” he told reporters. It has the sensation of a fresh ball. I am aware.
“I know how the game ball felt because I played for thirty-five minutes today. I’ll take the ball I have and present it to my mother, but I’m not sure if it’s the game ball.”
One fan commented on X after the drama, saying, “Pacers are disrespectful.”
Another person concurred: “Respect the the man that dropped 64 on you and give him the game ball.”
However, a third retorted, saying, “I mistook the game ball. The Pacers accepted it as a custom of their own. It was in no way directed towards Giannis. One of their rookies carried out the tradition of giving the game ball to a player who makes their first professional basket tonight.”
Antetokounmpo broke Michael Redd’s 2006 record of 57 points for the Bucks with his outstanding performance.
In addition to making 24 of his 32 attempted free throws, he shot 20–28 from the field.
Giannis’ 64 points were 36 points short of Wilt Chamberlain’s NBA record of 100 points, but they were still equal to Michael Jordan’s career high from the regular season.
