The Milwaukee Bucks announced on Monday that its star forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has won Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the 22nd time in his career.
The winner of the games played from December 11–17 was Antetokounmpo. He scored 36 points, grabbed 12.8 rebounds, disheveled 4.5 assists, and committed 1.8 steals a game while shooting 63.9% from the field to lead the Bucks to a 4-0 record during that time.
In addition, Antetokounmpo created history on December 13 against the Indiana Pacers, scoring 64 points, a career-high and franchise record. With his 64 points on 71.4% shooting, Antetokounmpo became just the seventh player in NBA history to score 60 points or more on 70% shooting.
On December 17 against Houston, he also set a new record for the Bucks in terms of rebounds, grabbing 17 rebounds to surpass Kareem Abdul Jabbar (7,161) in the rankings.
Player of the Week accolades are bestowed upon Antetokounmpo on the tenth anniversary of his Milwaukee Bucks debut.
The Bucks, who chose the 18-year-old Antetokounmpo with the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, stated in a post on X Monday that it “worked out well.”
