With a schedule that only Santa could rival, LEBRON JAMES is the athlete that works the hardest throughout the holiday season.
On this holiday, the 38-year-old basketball legend always brings buckets of fun and amusement while others open presents.
LeBron James will play his 18th game on Christmas Day
Stephen Curry has also become a Christmas Day regular in the NBA
Christmas is one of the biggest days in the NBA calendar with five back-to-back games
Outside of the United States, it is nearly unimaginable to have live sports on Christmas Day.
However, it’s simply another day at work for James despite being one of the most significant events in the NBA calendar.
On holidays, the NBA usually airs five games on national television, day and night.
It used to be the first time that games were televised on free-to-air television during the season, until recently.
And with James, Stephen Curry, and other stars taking center stage, it’s still one of the biggest days in the basketball calendar.
This year, James will participate in his eighteenth Christmas Day game—already the most in NBA history.
On the big day, he got 460 points and gave the crowd some unforgettable performances.
The NBA Christmas Day schedule’s major event this year will pit his Los Angeles Lakers against the Boston Celtics.
With 17 NBA titles each, the Lakers and Celtics rivalry is among the most well-known in all of US sports.
With seven titles, Golden State Warriors are third, while Chicago Bulls had six titles.
In just 12 NBA Finals meetings between the Lakers and Celtics, Boston has emerged victorious in eight of those meetings.
The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks will square off at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Christmas Day.
The Golden State Warriors and Curry will next play in Denver, home of the NBA champions from the previous season.
The third game on the schedule is Boston vs. LA, followed by two night games to cap up the festive schedule.
The Dallas Mavericks play the Phoenix Suns before the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Miami Heat.
James is going into a crucial 2024 for his legacy as the year draws to a close.
In his pursuit of a fifth NBA championship, he would trail only Michael Jordan, the man he is challenging for the record as the greatest basketball player of all time, by only one.
The Lakers have the team to fight for a title because they recently emerged victorious in the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament.
In addition, James hopes to compete in the summer Olympics in Paris and add another gold medal to his Beijing 2008 and London 2012 wins.
Due to the expiration of his Lakers contract, there will also be a lot of conjecture about his future.
LeBron has long expressed his wish to play professional basketball with his son Bronny, who is about to enter the NBA.
Alternatively, retirement is an option as he played 20 seasons in the league and will turn 39 before the new year.
But without LeBron, Christmas just wouldn’t be the same.
