Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, is hoping that Raphael Varane will be able to play in United’s Boxing Day match against Aston Villa at home.’
Because of Varane’s illness, Ten Hag started Willy Kambwala, a 19-year-old central defender, in Saturday’s 2-0 loss to West Ham.
Additionally, Amad’s inclusion in United’s matchday roster for the first time since December 2021 is being considered. After recovering from a knee ιnjury he suffered in July during preseason, the 21-year-old has been participating in team training for the past two weeks.
Ten Hag expressed the hope that Rapha Varane would return. As for the others, perhaps Amad Diallo. Look how far away he is. Two weeks have passed since he began training. They have the best chance of being able to come back.
According to Ten Hag, Anthony Martial is still not feeling well. After being booed by some fans in United’s 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth on December 9, Martial has been sidelined since.
United are not likely to activate the one-year extension on Anthony Martial’s contract, and he will be 28 years old after the current season ends. Although Ten Hag did sаy that United would announce any news on Martial’s potential sale next month, he did not explicitly state that they would do so. That, however, is not our goal.
United are the joint-second-worst scorers in the Premier League, while Villa sit atop the league standings, leading United by 11 points.
Although Villa have only managed two victories at Old Trafford in the Premier League era, they finally broke a 27-year losing streak at Villa Park last season in coach Unai Emery’s league debut.
“Villa is a different side, in very good form and a very good team,” said Ten Hag. Of course you want to win games if you score goals, but if you create chances, you must take them.
We need to make amends to the United fans; I can almost feel their disappointment. Things have to change, and we are grateful for their unwavering support.
We are grateful that no matter how bad things have gotten this season, they are always behind us. The crowd’s support would be very appreciated, but ultimately, it is my team and I’s responsibility to pull this off.
