Giannis Antetokounmpo remained cheerful after the Milwaukee Bucks’ shocking loss to the New York Knicks on Monday night.
Giannis wrote a touching Christmas greeting shortly after Milwaukee’s 122-129 loss to New York, demonstrating that he remained joyful despite the Bucks’ failure to win in their sixth consecutive Christmas game.
Despite best attempts,
Giannis truly gave it his all to help Milwaukee maintain their hegemony over New York, finishing with 32 points, 12 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 blocks, and an assist.
With 32 points and 8 assists, Damian Lillard had a successful night as well.
But in their second encounter in three days, Jalen Brunson and company proved too strong, as the Knicks finally overcame the Bucks after a run of defeats.
In the first game of the two-game series, which was played on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, Milwaukee defeated New York 130-111.
Milwaukee snapped New York’s nine-game losing streak, but the Bucks still have a 3-1 advantage over the Knicks in their seasonlong head-to-head matchup.
Brunson scored 38 points, followed by 24 from Julius Randle and 21 from RJ Barrett. Immanuel Quickley became the third Knick to score at least 20 points when he came off the bench and added 20 more points.
Outstanding December performance
Milwaukee’s record-tying seven-game winning streak was ended by the defeat. Milwaukee had plenty to celebrate even though they had lost and were heading out of Madison.
With a 22-8 record, the Bucks are still in second place in the Eastern Conference and have an outstanding 9-2 record for the month of December.
On Wednesday night, Milwaukee will continue its four-game road trip in Brooklyn.
