Say bye! Joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with a buyout option, Donny Van de Beek departs Manchester United

Donny van de Beek is among the players who have already secured a move when the January transfer market opens. For the remainder of the 2023–24 season, the midfielder will be loaned out to Eintracht Frankfurt from Manchester United. This is the Dutchman’s second loan stint following his 2022 signing with Everton; he has battled to find game time since arriving at Old Trafford in 2020.

Donny van de Beek, a midfielder for Manchester United, has finished his loan to Eintracht Frankfurt of the Bundesliga for the rest of the 2023–24 season.

Reports indicate that Frankfurt has the option to make the move permanent, and both clubs acknowledged the transaction on Monday when the January transfer market officially opened.

Van van Beek is hoping to get more playing time in Germany for the remainder of the season, as he has only appeared twice for United this year.

“Donny van de Beek has signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Manchester United,” read the United announcement.Donny has the support of everyone at Manchester United as he continues his season in Frankfurt.

After his short stint at Everton in 2021–22, during which he made just seven appearances, Van de Beek is returning to United for a second loan term.

Since joining United from Ajax for £40 million at the start of the 2020/21 campaign, the 26-year-old has had a tough time, especially under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club’s former leader.

United have used the Dutchman 62 times, and he has scored three goals in all competitions.

While playing for Ajax under Erik ten Hag, who is now United manager, van de Beek was an integral part of the team’s run to the 2019 UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Unfortunately, the midfielder’s form with Ten Hag was not able to be repeated at Old Trafford due in part to injuries; he missed the majority of last season due to a knee ailment.

In the summer of 2024, Van de Beek will try to reclaim his spot on the Dutch national team by having a productive stint with Frankfurt.

Frankfurt is in sixth place in the Bundesliga at the moment and will be in a tough race to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season along with Stuttgart, RB Leipzig, and Dortmund.
