LeBron James was blind to Jose Alvarado’s approach. And the four-time NBA champion let the guard for the New Orleans Pelicans beat him when he made a steal to help his team score points in their lopsided 129-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Alvarado outwitted the veteran, which led to followers making fun of him on social media.
Not only did the memes make jokes throughout his hearing, but they were also prominently displayed as the Lakers lost for the second time in a row.
James was dribbling towards LA’s end with five minutes remaining in the second quarter when he failed to see Alvarado come up from behind and swish past him by yanking the ball away from him. And New Orleans was able to convert that steal into a three-point play.
The play was described by analyst Rob Perez as “one of Jose’s best sneak attacks here.” “Notice how Taurean recognizes it, marks him, and even tries to block it by screening him. Even so, Alvarado arrives and criticizes LeBron for not being able to heed Prince’s warning.”
James had 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists at the end of the game. That wasn’t enough, though, as the Lakers dropped their next two games. Right now, they are eighth in the West at 17–17.
The Lakers and LeBron James are having trouble.
Despite winning the In-Season Tournament, LeBron James and the Lakers aren’t exactly having a terrific season. Outside of James, Anthony Davis, and Austin Reaves, the team is in desperate need of help ahead of a demanding home schedule.
According to James, “it could hurt us in the sense that you start to feel at home.” Thus, we must acknowledge that we are unable to unwind just because we are at home.
To put it plainly, the Lakers must win as many of these games as possible in order to maintain their hopes of winning a championship. The squad experiences little fatigue from travel throughout the home stretch, which is fantastic news. The front office’s actions prior to the deadline are also decided by the run.
LeBron James and company may get some support since Zach LaVine and Dejounte Murray are closely associated with the organization. Next up for the Lakers are games against the Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies. It remains to be seen if they can maintain victories over two formidable opponents and restart their campaign.
