The return of Lisandro Martinez

Premier League defender Lisandro Martinez’s triumphant return to duty following an ιnjury-plagued season was much-appreciated.

Martinez has been out since September after having surgery on his injured foot.

He was fully comfortable making physical contact with Tottenham players and put on a solid performance when he was on the field.

Additionally, he showed the value he can provide to the side by completing 14 of 14 passes attempted when constructing from the back.

As his post-game speech made clear, Martinez also brings a winning attitude and a spirit of competition.

Lisandro Martinez conveyed his conflicted emotions in an Instagram message to his supporters.

In his message, he expressed his appreciation for his fans and his pride in the response he received. Defeated, but we fought valiantly right up until the finish. We will continue to collaborate!

When Manchester United return to action at the end of the month to face Newport County or Eastleigh in the FA Cup fourth round, Martinez has a chance to start and get game time.

United will be on vacation until then, which is bad news for Martinez because he has only recently returned, but it will offer him more time to practice and get in shape.
