Undermanned Grizzlies Disrupt Terry Rozier’s Miami Premiere, Deal Heat Fourth Consecutive Defeat in 105-96 Victory

Vince Williams Jr. notched an impressive 25 points, with GG Jackson contributing 17 off the bench as the Memphis Grizzlies, despite being short-handed, thwarted Terry Rozier’s debut with the Miami Heat, securing a 105-96 victory on Wednesday night.

Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jaren Jackson Jr. both posted 15 points for Memphis, maintaining their lead throughout the entire second half. John Konchar recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

In response, Miami’s Tyler Herro led with 18 points as the Heat faced their fourth consecutive loss, marking the second time this season. Bam Adebayo showcased an impressive performance with 15 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks.

Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin also contributed 15 points each, while Terry Rozier, acquired in a trade with Charlotte on Tuesday, had a modest nine points on 3-for-11 shooting in his debut with the Heat.

Acknowledging the team’s current challenges, Rozier expressed, “We know things are not going to be perfect right away. You see the assessment of the team and see how things are going. But I feel like I fit the Heat culture, and I’m coming right in to pick things up on the defensive side and let everything else take care of itself. We’re all basketball players, so we’ll figure it out.”
