Dejounte Murray Sparks Lakers Trade Rumors, Clears Hawks-Related IG Posts Following Intense Fan Interaction

Trade ties between Dejounte Murray and the Los Angeles Lakers increased following his most recent Instagram posts. A few days after arguing back and forth with Atlanta Hawks supporters about his play, Murray removed all of his Hawks-related Instagram posts. He only has one video in a Hawks uniform, from his January 19 game-winning performance against the Miami Heat.

NBA speculations state that the Lakers and Hawks have discussed a deal. Murray is a highly sought-after player, and the Lakers are leading the race to sign him before the NBA trade deadline. This is a screen grab of Murray’s Instagram account, where all but one of the posts are made while wearing a Hawks jersey:

Posts including apparent Hawks clothing may connect to personal updates by Murray, such as his wardrobe or hairstyle. Not long before his Instagram profile underwent a major overhaul, Murray teased his admirers with a photograph and an angry post. He penned:

“Social media as a whole is meaningless. Achieve Happiness in Real Life!!!!!! #RealOverFake”

What was the nature of Dejounte Murray’s exchange with Hawks supporters?

Throughout his NBA career, Murray has been a superb two-way player, making him a sought-after trade target for teams. Murray has shot on 47/39/84 splits in the midst of his latest offensive explosion. Hawks supporters believe he become less effective defensively, though.

When a fan brought attention to this on one of the Hawks pages, Murray saw it and gave a ‘NSFW’ response, saying:

“You two are both MFs whores. merely speaking without thinking. Who truly can play genuine defense in this soft league nowadays when you can’t touch nobody?”It’s a pride issue, mf, so nobody is blowing by me! Before you guys start talking like wannabe coaches and Gm clowns, get the facts straight.”

Murray expressed his outrage in his most recent Instagram post following the back-and-forth. Based on his off-court activity, it appears that a trade move is likely, and this could be the final straw for his time in Atlanta.
