“Do your job”: LeBron James Candidly Addresses Lakers Teammates During Crucial East Coast Trip

The LA Lakers and LeBron James are midway through a record-tying six-game road trip. They defeated the Golden State Warriors 145-144 in double overtime on Saturday to start the stretch with a tҺrilling victory. But LA lost their next two games, falling to the Atlanta Hawks 138-122 and the Houston Rockets 135-119.

Los Angeles Lakers v Atlanta Hawks

The Lakers will play the Boston Celtics on Thursday and the New York Knicks on Saturday after having the day off. Before their games against the two dominant teams in the Eastern Conference, LA had a record of 0–2. After their game against the Knicks, the Lakers might be in the midst of a four-game losing streak if they don’t improve.

LeBron James was asked whether he had anything to sаy to his teammates following the Hawks game. Four-time MVP in response:

“I have nothing to sаy to my teammates. “Just go do what you have to do.”

In their past two games, the LA Lakers have lost by an average of sixteen points. They have been performing as though they are still reeling from their tҺrilling victory over the Warriors a few days ago. They started the game slowly against the Hawks and the Rockets.

LeBron James carrying heavy burden for Lakers, and it is getting them nowhere - Los Angeles Times

LeBron James and the team were criticized by Darvin Ham for their lack of effort and concentration in the first half of the game against Houston. They made an effort to rally, but they were unable to overtake the advantage. They had the identical issue in Atlanta two nights later. They were behind early and spent the most of the match catching up.

When playing the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks, James and the Lakers cannot afford to get off to the same sluggish start. This season, Boston is 21-2 at TD Garden and plays with a swagger in front of its supporters. The Knicks, who are 17-5 at Madison Square Garden, will be highly anticipated for their big game versus Los Angeles.

For LeBron James and the Lakers, performing their duties is just the beginning. To have a chance to win on the road, they will need to step up.

Rebounding the ball is something that LeBron James and his teammates need to improve on.

The LA Lakers were outrebounded in both of their losses to the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks, especially on the оffensive glass. With a 14–4 lead in that area, the Rockets were able to score 19 second-chance points as opposed to the Lakers’ 6 points. Houston had far too many opportunities to score as a result of LA’s inability to finish defensive possessions.

In their 12-7 loss on the оffensive board against the Hawks, LeBron James and company did not perform as poorly. Nevertheless, they gave up eight second chance points to Atlanta’s twenty-one. The frontcourt of the Hawks worked harder and more resolutely to collect rebounds.

James wants his colleagues to carry out their duties. Their rebounding, which has been lacking in their last two games, ought to be first on that list. There will be sleepless nights in Boston and New York if they don’t make improvements in that area. In terms of rebounds, the Celtics and Knicks are first and third, respectively.
