We are already deep into the second half of the 2023–24 season, far from where LeBron James and the LA Lakers had hoped to be. Their once-bright championship hopes have dimmed to a glimmer of hope that doesn’t seem to be within reach right now.
Naturally, they have discussed trading some of their assets in order to obtain pieces that will enable them to turn things around. The consensus among the league’s players is that James and Anthony Davis are untouchable in trade negotiations up until this point.
But according to a recent report, the Lakers front office may be prepared to part ways with their superstar combo. According to David Pingalore, Rob Pelinka is allegedly eager to deal LeBron James for the appropriate amount.
Though some Twitter users have pointed out that David Pingalore was correct when he previously stated that Kawhi Leonard was signing with the LA Clippers, neither the Lakers nor James have spoken thus far.
One user remarked, “We believe you, king,” referencing a 2019 post from Pingalore.
Naturally, there are many who don’t think James would be traded by the Lakers.
“These people are capable of inventing anything just for interactions.”
Some admirers, meanwhile, didn’t take long to make reference to James’ recent cryptic hourglass tweet.
One person quoted the post and said, “Lakers fans thought this was about Ham when it was Bron saying he’s leaving soon.”
Naturally, other supporters merely took the time to convey their desire for LeBron James to join their team.
“Bronny LeBron going to Toronto.”
James being traded is not something that is easy to imagine. But his contract is about to expire, and Rob Pelinka may have considered dealing with him because it’s a well-known fact that he wants to play with his son Bronny. Otherwise, the Lakers risk losing him in free agency.
