Bronny James’s future may significantly impact where his father plays in the upcoming season. As the trade deadline draws near, LeBron James rumors are starting to surface. All of this, though, might depend on whether his son Bronny James is selected this summer. A situational insider confirmed the same.
Chandler Parsons, a former NBA player, was the insider. He spoke on FanDuelTV alongside Lou Williams, Shams Charania, and Michelle Beadle to talk about LeBron James’ potential next season and future. Parsons had a brilliant hunch about the King’s next move:
“I believe that LeBron does it all. I believe he is aware that Bronny is filing for the draft already. He most likely already has a backdoor agreement with a team that he will partner with. They know who is taking Bronny James and where LeBron James is heading as soon as he declares for the draft.”
It would not be shocking if James had planned out his next move far in advance. He is renowned for giving clues and for constantly putting in extra effort to make sure his plans are carried out.
Parsons believes James has the power to ensure he finds out which team would select Bronny James before to his son’s graduation from college:
“With the season that Bronny is having, he would not declare for the draft and rely solely on chance.” We know where LeBron James is heading, and he has a guarantee if he does declare.”
Now, such a move would not be without its difficulties. Lou Williams, a former NBA player, referred to the proposed plan as “tampering.” Parsons remained unfazed:
Whatever you want to call it, that is what is taking place. LeBron is intelligent. Being astute in business, he always considers his next move. LeBron knows where Bronny is going to go when he declares for the draft, even if he won’t tell us.”
LeBron has often stated that before he leaves the NBA, he wants to play with his son. That would be feasible if Bronny James declares for the draft this summer. LeBron has a player option left on his contract, with one year still to go. If Bronny is drafted, he has the option to accept and request a move to that location. He has the option to leave and sign a contract with Bronny’s next squad.
Is Bronny James eligible for the summer draft?
This summer, Bronny James is eligible to be drafted. He is presently in his first year at USC and has not yet declared. After a year, he may go and sign up for the draft.
Still, that doesn’t seem likely. This season, Bronny James isn’t performing at an NBA caliber thus far. Despite coming off the bench in several games, his average is a pitiful 5.9 points.
Right now, James is nowhere near the top of any draft boards. If he declares, he is currently expected to be selected in the late second round. He may also choose to declare, enter the league as a free agent, and not be selected. James may now have even more influence on where his kid plays in the league as a result.
