Once more, on Wednesday, the Lakers faced defeat at the hands of the Kings, marking the second loss within a week and the fourth this season. While the confirmation of a clean sweep by the Kings came with Wednesday’s defeat, it’s been evident for some time that the Lakers struggle against their opponents from Sacramento.

Stretching back to the 2021-22 season, Sacramento has emerged victorious in nine out of the last ten encounters with the purple and gold. Although the rivalry between the two teams doesn’t reach the intensity of its early 2000s peak, repeatedly losing to their in-state rivals is undeniably frustrating.

Although Darvin Ham hasn’t been present for all these matches, and the Lakers roster has seen changes during this period, LeBron James has experienced it all. It’s possible that he, too, feels the impact of the loss, as hinted by his Instagram story late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

I mean, who among us hasn’t felt the urge to drive aimlessly at night, enveloped in sorrow after a Lakers defeat, with melancholic tunes echoing through the car speakers? Let those who haven’t experienced it cast the first stone.

LeBron’s reaction is just priceless. Responding to a Lakers loss as if he’s a moody teenager fresh from a breakup is undoubtedly the most amusing thing he could’ve done.

Obviously, he didn’t drive all the way to Sacramento. Instead, he likely hopped into his car to head home, turned on some R&B, and shared his feelings on his Instagram story while cruising down the interstate.

Honestly, it’s just the most comical response he could’ve had.

For what it’s worth, when he spoke to the media in the locker room after the loss, he didn’t seem overly distraught about the game. He acknowledged that the Kings had outplayed the Lakers, as he put it, and definitely didn’t appear to be in a teenage mood swing.

At least in this video, he didn’t attempt to belt out the lyrics of a song without knowing them. Never change, LeBron. Never change.
