Standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall, James is recognized for his versatility on the court and has embarked on a unique journey back to Sierra Canyon. His path included stops at Campbell Hall High School and Notre Dame High School, where he played alongside talented individuals like Mercy Miller. However, his return to Sierra Canyon was made possible by the CIF Southern Section’s A-B-A rule, granting him immediate eligibility.
In the current season, James wasted no time making an impact in Sierra Canyon’s dominant 86-24 victory over Moorpark High School. He contributed six points, three assists, and exhibited his defensive skills with two steals and a block.
Another pivotal factor contributing to Sierra Canyon’s success is Bryce Cofield’s presence, who was James’ teammate in AAU. The duo’s chemistry, developed over the summer, is anticipated to make a significant impact on the team’s performance this season. Following in the footsteps of his older brother, Bronny, who concluded his senior season at Sierra Canyon as a McDonald’s All-American before enrolling at USC, James is poised to leave his mark on the collegiate basketball scene.
With an impeccable 5-0 record, Sierra Canyon is preparing for the Hoophall West tournament in Arizona, where they will face Desert Mountain.
