Due to financial concerns, Forest may be forced to sell the 21-year-old Brazilian center defender, who is being tracked by all three Premier League heavyweights.
Murillo signed a five-year agreement with Forest in August after leaving Corinthians, but he has already made a big impression with his stellar play in his first season.
While Forest will most certainly file an appeal in response to their four-point deduction for violating profit and sustainability regulations, rumors have it that the company is planning to sell off some of its top players this summer to clear the decks.Forest are reportedly hoping to get a sum “in excess” of £50 million for their brilliant defender Murillo, and they have already fixed a price for him.’
Although Forest only spent £11 million to get Murillo, they anticipate that he might be worth £70 million in the future.
After joining Forest at the City Ground in December, Murillo has played 27 times, including an assist in a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United.
The fact that Murillo is still relatively young makes him an enticing target for Chelsea, who, under Todd Boehly, have opted to put an emphasis on signing young players to long-term contracts.
In light of Chelsea’s recent troubles, Murillo may find more appealing choices with Arsenal and Liverpool, who will also be vying for his signature.
