Renowned designer Jordan Dawson has done it again with a one-of-a-kind pair of customized boots for Chelsea midfielder Enzо Fernandez, who sported them in the team’s recent match against Astоn Villa.

For elite professional players looking to upgrade their footwear with a dash of style, Dawsоn is the go-to craftsman. A few of the artists whose work he has contributed to are Alex Mac Allister, Darwin Nunez, and Allan Saint-Maximin. Now he’s customizing a Nike Mercurial Vapor with elements that reflect the Argentine midfielder’s World Cup heritage in honor of Fernandez, his international colleague.

After Fernandez wore the customized boots during the 0-1 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend, speculation over his brand affiliation became even more intense. Fernandez has been spotted with a variety of Nike models recently, including some PUMA Ultras and a departure from his regular Phantоm GX. This most recent change suggests that he is exploring new possibilities and may be winding down his time at Nike. He clearly wants to test out his footwear options, so he gets Dawson to make a customized pair of Mercurial Vapors.

Although the soleplate doesn’t appear to be split like that model, suggesting a distinct customization, the boots seem to be the Mercurial Vapor XIII, maybe from the ‘Nuevо White’ pack that was originally offered in late 2019. The heel has a geometric design of fading blue diamonds; the lighter shade of blue blends with the white base to pay homage to the national colors of Argentina, while the darker shade of blue is associated with Chelsea. Details in gold adorn the Swoop outerline; three stars stand for Argentina’s three World Cup victories; and on the heels, you’ll find “AFA” and “E8” respectively.
