Draymond Green and Stephen Curry synergize seamlessly, while Gary shines in the Warriors and Spurs

Similar to the overall tone of this season, Draymond Green encountered obstacles during this road trip. In Orlando, he faced his first ejection since returning from his suspension, causing visible frustration for Steph Curry.

Taking responsibility for his actions, he addressed the incident on his podcast. In Miami, he contributed to shutting down Bam Adebayo and played a pivotal role in an improved defensive effort, leading to a three-game winning streak.

Then, in the game against San Antonio, Green showcased a vintage performance in the third quarter, turning the tide of the game. His contributions were vital on both ends of the court. Green sealed the victory with a crucial free throw in the closing seconds, tallying 21 points, 11 assists, and a season-high six steals. Curry also had an impressive performance, marking his 27th 30-point game of the season and helping Golden State (40-34) secure the win. Head coach Steve Kerr praised Green’s defensive prowess, describing his performance as a “defensive masterpiece” during the postgame press conference.

The Warriors’ 117-113 triumph concludes a successful 4-1 road trip, securing victories against the Spurs, Magic, Heat, and Hornets. Their lone defeat occurred in a closely contested match against the formidable Timberwolves. With the Rockets showing impressive form, the Warriors’ current four-game winning streak is holding them at bay.

During their recent three-game winning streak, the Warriors consistently took early leads against their opponents. They limited the Magic to just 11 points in the first quarter (on 3-for-22 shooting) and the Hornets to 17 points. However, in the game against the Spurs, it was San Antonio who seized the initiative.

A significant 17-2 run propelled the Spurs to a 13-point lead in the opening quarter. The Warriors struggled with turnovers, committing five, some of which were avoidable, and appeared sluggish in transition.

This period starkly contrasted with Golden State’s defensive performances earlier in the week, where they prioritized getting back on defense and benefited from favorable shooting circumstances. Steve Kerr, frustrated with his team’s sluggish start and a missed call, received a technical foul for confronting an official on the court.
